ICLR 2025: 58 Rooms, 5,000+ Talks, One Global Video Partner
5 min read
When the world’s leading deep learning conference travels from New Orleans to Kigali to Singapore, one thing remains constant: SlidesLive is right there, recording, streaming, and scaling alongside it.
Since 2019, the International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR) has trusted SlidesLive to capture and deliver its content to a global audience. In 2025, the bar was higher than ever:
📌 Singapore, April 24–28
📌 11,000+ attendees
📌 5,000+ recorded talks
📌 58 conference rooms

A Partnership Built on Agility and Innovation
What began with nine full-day tracks in 2019 has transformed into a multi-continent, multi-format collaboration:
2019, New Orleans: Our first live recordings helped define a scalable approach for academic video capture.
2020–2022, Virtual Pivot: Thousands of talks moved online. SlidesLive supported ICLR’s fully virtual format with a custom pre-recording system and live stream.
2023–2024, Hybrid Expansion: With stops in Rwanda and Austria, we introduced RoboCam: our AI-powered robotic camera system, enabling large-scale, cost-effective hybrid coverage.
2025, Singapore: We hit full stride with 58 conference rooms, high-stakes logistics, and a seamless end-to-end media pipeline.

Challenges Across Continents, Solutions Built to Scale
✅Multi-Continent Coordination
Singapore isn’t next door. But with nine months of prep and two full-scale live stream tests, we ensured every detail—from gear transport to crew coordination—ran like clockwork.
✅Streaming Without Compromise
From Kigali to Singapore, internet stability can’t be taken for granted. We deployed custom RTMP/SRT streaming protocols, plus a dedicated global CDN, to ensure a smooth viewing experience worldwide.
✅RoboCam + NATE: Smart Scaling
With dozens of rooms running in parallel, traditional camera crews weren’t an option. Instead, we relied on RoboCam and our proprietary Neural Automated Tracking Engine (NATE)—delivering broadcast-quality video at a fraction of the cost.

✅Remote Speaker Support
Pre-recorded sessions? Live remote presentations? No problem. Our browser-based tool, Zoom integrations, and live tech support made remote participation easy and professional.

✅Accessible, Embeddable, and Evergreen
All talks were embedded via the SlidesLive Player, complete with live captions and note-taking tools. Content is stored in the SlidesLive Library, always ad-free and ready to view.
✅Highlight Video—Fast
Even last-minute requests get attention. We shot and edited ICLR’s welcome reception highlight video in just a few days.
“Where ICLR Goes, We Go.”
At SlidesLive, we’re not just recording content—we’re creating a global infrastructure for academic storytelling. Whether in Singapore or São Paulo, our scalable tech and flexible teams make us the ideal partner for conferences with big ambitions.

A note from Vlad Gogulinsky, ICLR 2025 Production Manager:
Another ICLR in the books! From Kigali to Vienna, then Singapore—and next year, Rio. Wherever ICLR goes, we go too. This year, we livestreamed and recorded 58 conference rooms—our biggest ICLR yet—and we’re already looking forward to doing even more next time. Producing an event of this scale means handling tricky logistics, last-minute changes, and fast turnarounds. Good thing we thrive on that. Massive thanks to our amazing team—flexible, reliable, and always ready to deliver. See you in Brazil!
