When Katie Deegan first joined SlidesLive right after graduating from college, she had no idea she’d still be with the company more than seven years later. Today, she’s an experienced Account Manager and a key member of our sales team. Her journey at SlidesLive shows that with trust, flexibility, and a strong team, it’s possible to grow a successful career at one company while still staying true to yourself.

From Business Development to Long-Term Partnerships

Katie started in business development and now manages dozens of clients not only in the United States, but all around the world. She’s become a trusted partner and a friendly, familiar face for our customers throughout the entire collaboration process with SlidesLive. But her role goes beyond emails and contracts — Katie is deeply involved in team building and company growth. In 2024, she supported CEO Vojta Ciml in expanding the sales team and helped hire our new VP of Sales and Marketing, Bruce Gudenberg.

It was great to welcome our new sales team in person at my home in New Jersey. I love blending the online and offline worlds.

Company Growth and New Challenges

Alongside her own career growth, Katie has witnessed one of the most dynamic years in SlidesLive history. Our AI-powered Smart Solution technology has attracted many new clients, and our global team continues to expand.

It’s amazing to see how the company is evolving. We’re bigger, working on more projects with more clients — and we’ve kept our sense of openness and humanity.

Blending Career and Motherhood? With SlidesLive, It Works

Katie reached important milestones not only at work but also in her personal life — the biggest one being the arrival of her son, Shane, in May of last year. She knew her life would change, but working for SlidesLive, she was sure she’d be able to find a balance that would work for her new lifestyle.

SlidesLive gave me the flexibility to gradually return to work while adjusting to life as a new mom. I’m grateful that the company supported me during this important time and transition.

Katie continues to work remotely from her home in New Jersey. Thanks to our remote-first approach, she’s able to balance work and family — sometimes from entirely new locations. Whether it’s simply an escape from the cold New Jersey weather or a trip to visit family across the country, Katie can travel all while being trusted by the SlidesLive team to play her role.

I took a few trips to Florida while working — the perfect balance of productivity and relaxation. At SlidesLive, as long as you have the internet, you can work from anywhere.

   I build long-term client relationships by understanding their goals and consistently delivering value tailored to their needs. I communicate proactively, stay reliable, and prioritize trust and transparency. By personalizing my interactions and acting on feedback, I try to ensure my clients feel supported and valued over time.

   
   

3. What would you say is your superpower?

   Speediness! Efficiency is key and I pride myself on being fast and responsive, ensuring all of my tasks are completed promptly and my clients get the answers they need without a delay.
